Aldona Martynenka was born and raised in Minsk, Belarus. Growing up in a family of writers, she inherited a deep passion for writing, which began with school writing competitions and essay publications, eventually leading to a career in journalism and non-fiction writing. Influenced by her father, a journalist and music critic, Aldona developed a deep connection with the local music scene, gaining insight into the lives of artists and their behind-the-scenes stories.

Her debut novel, The Snow Melted in August, draws inspiration from her personal experiences with loss and drug abuse among loved ones.

Currently residing in Stockholm, Sweden, Aldona works as a product manager while continuing to pursue her passion for writing and working on her next book.
